[The alpha stood at the summit of the mountain and scanned the area. the snow capped peak glistened and sparkled like diamonds in the sun. The storm had passed now and the sky was clear. Atticus gazed into the valley below. He began to make his way down the mountain towards the empty looking valley. Suddenly he heard a voice. He stopped in his tracks. He had not caught the scent of anyone. The hairs bristling on his neck and ears pinned flat against his head in aggression, he whirled around, quickly perking his ears again. It was Lucas.]

"You startled me." said the father to his son.

"Father I was mearly checking up on you. Wouldn't want you to split a hair..." he gave a sinister grin.

[Lucas lept at his father, tackling him and sending the both of them tumbling down the mountainside. They slide to a halt 50 feet from the mountain's base. Atticus got to his feet and loped directly at his son. He pulled to a halt and snapped his ear up in his jaws. he pulled him for about 10 feet. When Lucas got to his feet he was left with a chunk out of his ear and blood trickling down his face.]

"What in the hell were you thinking?" Atticus growled and snapped at his son.

"Just testing you....dad." a grin split across Lucas's face.

[He had been angry with his father for not wanting him to leave the pack. His father had said that he wasn't ready to make it on his own and that he was a valuable asset to the pack. His father told him that he wasn't ready for anything. He had just proved his father was not always ready for anything.]

"Fine. You think you can make it on your own? You think you can run a pack? So be it. You are not a part of MY pack anymore."

[Atticus turned his back on his son and trotted off towards the pack's den. It was a stupid thing he had just done really. His son mearly proved a point. But it was what he wanted anyway....so why not let him have it. Ellipse would not be happy with him, but at least he did not have to worry about argueing with his son anymore. He had crossed a line. It would now not happen again....or would it?]
